O=Outlander

I am in a bad mood today, so the post is going to be a bit short. O only brought one book in my mind, and that is Outlander.  This also is a series, but I am just talking about a few things of the series.

Outlander was not my first Time-travel book. In fact it came much later. The thing which made it different for me was the little things the plot made me think:

1) The book is about adultery and not about adultery. Is it adultery if one marries again while time-travelling ?

2) What if time travel means that you can go back for some time and then travel again? How much of the future would you actually bring with you? Would you sell those medicines for money?

3) What kind of marriage can it be when the parties understand that it’s time-bound? Or if it’s forced?

4) If somebody enjoys being raped, does it stop being a rape?

I know these questions are not only associated with this book, but very few books bring out this kind of dilemma truly well. Besides my mind has strange filters. It takes what it wants to and discards the rest. These questions hammered in my mind as I read the book. As I read about characters’ moral and ethical dilemma’s I wondered what was actually right. Or if there actually is a definition of right?

This is a mammoth series, some 800 pages only in first book itself. The only thing I struggled in this book was too much of history. Author on her part was showing the events of that time. But I never liked history too much.

But I have a problem with series. They are not really able to hold my interest for too long. Same happened with this. I am yet to read the last two books of the series.
